Lashley Animal Hospital Is Proud To Announce The Addition Of Sarah A. Turek, D.V.M. To It’s Family!
Dr. Sarah Turek is a 2013 University of Illinois graduate of the College of Veterinary Medicine. She was an active member of the Student Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society, the Non-Traditional Species Club as well as the Production Medicine Club. She was also a member of the Illinois Student Chapter of the American Veterinary Medicine Association all four years of veterinary school. Dr. Turek received her Bachelor’s degree in Animal Sciences from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana. Since graduating Dr. Turek has maintained an active membership in the American Veterinary Medicine Association, American Association of Feline Practitioners, Kankakee Valley Veterinary Medical Association and the Illinois State Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. Turek has two dogs, Pez and Jezebel, both pit bull mixes. She and her husband, Patrick welcomed their first child, Wyatt in Feburary 2016. They love watching him grow and interact with their dogs. Dr. Turek was also an active member in the Zonta Club of LaSalle-Peru area and hopes to continue that locally. She attended the International Convention in Orlando Florida June 2014 and joined the board. Dr. Turek is fond of traveling, camping, volleyball, movie-going, playing piano, swimming and walking Wyatt, Pez and Jezebel around the local parks. A fun fact about her is that she has visited 10 different countries.
As a veterinarian Dr. Turek particularly appreciates exploring the bonds between her clients and their pets. She also is inspired by challenging medicine cases and enjoys educating her clients about common ailments that our companion animals can get, including arthritis and allergies.
Dr. Turek provides care to new and existing patients Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. and every Saturday 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sat 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
